Increasingly becoming a more popular destination for visitors, the Lowlands are finally beginning to attract the popularity that their long-standing Whisky-producing distilleries deserve. The flavor profile from here revolves around light-bodied single malts that are unpeated and lighter, with a gentle, elegant palate.
Isle of Islay
Known as the whisky Isle as there are 9 distilleries located on the island (with the oldest active one being Bowmore which dates back to 1779) & the majority of the population here are actually involved in the production in some capacity! Whisky blends from the Island tend to be very peaty redolent of coastal oil and salt.
Highlands
The largest of the regions & home to well-known names in the whisky game like Glenturret & the Famous Grouse. The vast & wild Highland region produces varied & unique Scotch from distillery to distillery - tendency towards lightly peated flavors with Oak & Vanilla blends.
Campbeltown
The smallest of Scotland’s Whisky regions with only 3 active distilleries, Springbank, Glengyle, and Glen Scotia. Located on the Kintyre peninsula it will be no surprise that a whisper of sea salt is detectable through the peaty, sweet, and smoky blends the region is famous for.
Speyside
Home to some of Scotland's best-loved malt whiskies such as Glenfiddich, Macallan, and Aberlour. This beautiful region is filled with incredible valleys, glens, and - most importantly - over 50 distilleries producing some remarkable fine malts.
