Day 1: Arrival in Dublin – City Tour – Druids Glen Golf Resort
We start off your 10-day golf tour of Scotland and Ireland in the Irish Capital: Dublin.
Your driver-guide will be waiting to collect you from the airport and show you to your luxury touring vehicle before taking you on a short city tour of Dublin, where you may see Dublin Castle, The Custom House, and Trinity College Library en route to the first course of our tour: Druids Glen.
Druids Glen is a stunning golf resort, situated just south of Dublin, that offers two incredible championship courses, a beautiful clubhouse, and a 5-star hotel to top it all off!
After enjoying either of the resort’s two championship courses, you can either stay at the resort and enjoy a peaceful end to your first day in Ireland, or if you’d prefer, our driver-guide will be on hand to take you back in the hustle and bustle of Dublin where you can make the most of the city’s fantastic range of bars and eateries.
Day 2: The Kildare Hotel & Golf Club – The Mount Wolseley
The second day of our golfing tour starts as we head from Druids Glen or Dublin to play at The K Club.
The K Club offers two 18-hole courses that were designed by the great Arnold Palmer back in 1991. Known for its lush greens and striking resemblance to American Parkland courses, the resort also has a beautiful restaurant where we can have a nice lunch before your second course of the day (no pun intended): The Mount Wolseley.
Once you’ve played around the 18-hole championship course at The Mount Wolseley, you can enjoy dinner at the resort’s fantastic restaurant before nestling down for the night in one of its stunning contemporary rooms.
Day 3: Royal County Down – Belfast Tour
Day three starts quite early as we make the 3-hour drive up to the north of the island en route to Royal County Down Golf Club – one of the oldest courses in the country.
Opening over 130 years ago, Royal County Down has two incredible 18-hole links courses and has had the pleasure of hosting significant events such as The Irish Open (1928, 1935, 2015), The Walker Cup (2007), and The Palmer Cup (2012).
In the late afternoon, and once your group has successfully navigated this beautiful (yet challenging) course, we’ll head to the Capital of the North: Belfast City.
When we arrive in Belfast, you may have time for a short city tour before arriving at your accommodation for the night in the city center – perfectly placed for your group to head out and enjoy the city’s vibrant nightlife.
Day 4: Royal Portrush Golf Club – Bushmills Distillery – Carrick-A-Rede – Giant’s Causeway
On the morning of Day Four, your driver-guide will take your group out of Belfast and over to the famous Royal Portrush Golf Club, which offers two fantastic 18-hole links courses, the crowned jewel of which is The Dunluce Links.
After your round, we’ll stop for a spot of lunch before visiting Bushmills Distillery – the oldest working distillery on the island – and continuing onto Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (depending on how much whiskey the group got through in Bushmills) before returning you to Belfast for the evening.
Day 5: Portstewart – Flight To Edinburgh
On the final day of the Irish leg of your golf tour, we’ll head to Portstewart – where it is said that golf was played as far back as 1889!
Once you’ve finished your round, we’ll head to Belfast airport, where you can catch a flight over to Edinburgh and be collected by your local expert driver-guide to continue your golfing vacation in the home of golf: Scotland.
When you arrive in Scotland, your driver-guide will be waiting to take you to your accommodation in the center of Edinburgh – stopping at a couple of sites in the city center en route.
In the evening, you’ll get the chance to explore the streets of the Scottish capital and take advantage of the city’s wonderful selection of bars and eateries.
Day 6: Edinburgh – St Andrews
On your first day in Scotland, we waste no time in getting well acquainted with the history of golf on these rugged shores.
We head north from Edinburgh, over the beautiful fourth road bridges to where it all began for golf: The Old Course at St Andrews. Considered the oldest course in the world, the Old Course (we’re very imaginative with names in Scotland) is a piece of history and a must-visit on any golf tour of the country!
As your group is walking up the dramatic 18th fairway and across the iconic Swilcan Bridge, you’ll see the stunning Old Course Hotel, which can be your accommodation for Day Six of your golf tour and has walls adorned with a fascinating range of historic memorabilia.
Day 7: St Andrews – Carnoustie
Today we’ll head from St Andrews to play The Championship Course at Carnoustie, one of the most challenging courses on our tour.
Golf is said to have been played at Carnoustie as far back as the 16th Century, making it one of the oldest golfing destinations in the world – with The Championship often regarded as one of the best courses in the world!
Once you’ve got round The Championship (hopefully without losing too many balls), we’ll head across to another golfing monument in Scotland: Gleneagles Golf Resort.
We’ll be slightly too late to fit 18 holes in at Gleneagles today, but the resort’s excellent hotel and restaurants are the perfect place to unwind and relax following a challenging (but hopefully memorable) day of golf!
Day 8: Gleneagles Golf Resort – Glasgow
Today we’ll wake up to some of the best views in Scottish Golf before deciding between one of Gleneagles’ incredible and stunningly beautiful courses: The King’s, The Queen’s, or The PGA Centenary Course (all designed by the great Jack Nicklaus.
Once you’ve finished your round, you might want to have a spot of lunch at Gleneagles before we continue our day to Stirling to visit its historic castle and sites, before finishing the day in Scotland’s cultural gem: Glasgow.
You’ll have time in the evening to make the most of the city’s wonderful selection of bars and restaurants before we continue down the West Coast on our golfing trip the following morning.
Day 9: Turnberry Golf Club – Edinburgh
Your driver-guide will collect you bright and early as you make your way towards the west coast of Scotland on a two-hour drive to the prestigious Trump Turnberry Golf Club. The iconic Ailsa Course at Trump Turnberry is one of the country’s best courses, with spectacular views of the Ayrshire coast, the Island of Arran, and Aila Craig.
After 18 holes at Trump Turnberry, we’ll drive over Scotland and return to Edinburgh for the evening.
Day 10: Muirfield Golf Club – Airport Transfer
And alas! All good things must eventually come to an end as we reach the final day of your private golf tour of Scotland and Ireland!
We’ll spend the morning getting one final round in at Muirfield, shopping on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh city center for any last-minute gifts, or ticking some of the city’s incredible sites off your must-see list before your driver-guide delivers you safely to the airport in time for your onward journey!
